This high-level meeting follows Gachagua’s recent event in Nyeri, where opposition leaders called for unity. The goal of today’s session is to bring all opposition parties together under one presidential candidate to challenge President Ruto and possibly make him a one-term president.
The event, held under the theme #OneNationOnePeople, aims to promote national unity and cooperation among key political figures. Kalonzo, who has been part of previous coalitions like NASA and Azimio La Umoja, is once again playing a leading role in uniting the opposition.
This comes shortly after President Ruto met over 1,600 Ukambani leaders at State House, where he announced several development projects aimed at winning support in Kalonzo’s stronghold. In response, the Tseikuru meeting is expected to strengthen Kalonzo’s political influence in Ukambani and across Kenya.
As the 2027 general election approaches, today’s meeting may shape the future of Kenya’s political landscape. The leaders are focusing on unity, a clear election strategy, and a strong message for voters across the country.
