3690 Nigerians to Be Deported From the US as Trump’s Immigration Crackdown Begins

A document from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) titled “Noncitizens on the ICE Non-Detained Docket with Final Orders of Removal by Country of Citizenship” provides a detailed breakdown of the nationalities of those slated for removal.

Leading the list of affected countries is Mexico, with 252,044 individuals, followed by Nicaragua, which has 45,955 illegal immigrants. In Africa, Somalia tops the list with 4,090 individuals, followed closely by Nigeria with 3,690 cases and Ghana, which has 3,228 undocumented immigrants.

Just over a week into Trump’s January 20 inauguration, ICE has already detained approximately 3,552 illegal immigrants, many of whom have been swiftly deported on US military aircraft. While initial efforts have concentrated on Latin American nations, including Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia, growing speculation suggests that the focus will soon shift to individuals of African origin.

The pace of deportations is expected to accelerate significantly, aligning with Trump’s campaign pledge to execute one of the most extensive immigration crackdowns in US history. His administration has further empowered federal agencies to enhance detention operations, reinforcing his stringent approach to undocumented immigration.
