Authorities in Embu County have begun investigations following the grim discovery of a middle-aged man’s lifeless body abandoned in a dense thicket at Kiriari Riamaciri Village, located in Ngandori West.
The deceased, identified as 52-year-old Kenneth Muchagi Njiru, was a resident of the neighboring Riamaciri Village. His remains were found on Thursday, February 6, along a well-trodden footpath commonly used by locals returning home from Kathangari Shopping Center.
Residents suspect that Muchagi met his tragic end on Wednesday night before being left in the secluded area. However, the circumstances surrounding his killing remain unclear.
“My son was last seen alive and happy. I never imagined that just hours later, I would be called to identify his lifeless body on a farm,” said Danshon Njiru, the grieving father of the deceased, urging law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation and bring those responsible to justice.

Friends and relatives who gathered at the scene described Muchagi as a quiet and well-liked individual who maintained good relations with everyone in the village. “He was a friendly man. It’s heartbreaking to see his life end this way,” expressed one of the neighbors.
Reports indicate that Muchagi was last seen on Wednesday evening enjoying a social outing with friends at a bar in Kathangari Trading Center.
Officers from Kangaru Police Station responded to the scene, and the body was transferred to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
