The police suspect the gunman who shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in front of a Midtown Manhattan hotel may have fled New York City by bus to Atlanta.
Authorities say the suspect initially arrived in New York City last month, also on a bus from Atlanta. He was seen on surveillance cameras at a hostel before the shooting, where he appeared to flirt with a staff member.
Manhunt Goes Nationwide
The FBI is now assisting the NYPD in the nationwide search for the killer. After the shooting, the gunman was captured on video riding a bicycle into Central Park. He later abandoned the bike, hailed a taxi, and was dropped off at the George Washington Bridge Bus Station. Police believe he boarded a bus and left the city.
