Commuters across Nairobi and other towns are expected to face major transport disruption today after several matatu SACCOs and long-distance bus companies announced suspension of operations ahead of the nationwide PSV strike.

The industrial action, organised under the Motorist Association umbrella, is being driven by rising fuel prices and increasing operational costs affecting public transport operators.

The company stated passenger and staff safety remains its top priority.

The SACCO said it had suspended operations in solidarity with motorists protesting recent fuel price hikes.

Operators are demanding government intervention to reduce fuel costs affecting the transport sector.
