Eight people Dead, Dozens injured in a Tragic road accident On Sunday Morning!

Eight people lost their lives and many others were injured in a tragic road accident on the N2 highway near Empangeni, a metro area in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, on Sunday morning.

The fatal crash happened on the N2 northbound lane, just above the John Ross highway. It involved two vehicles and caused major traffic disruptions in the area. Emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene to help the injured and clear the wreckage.

Four people were critically injured, while ten others suffered serious injuries. All injured individuals were taken to Ngwelezana Hospital for urgent medical care.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Authorities have temporarily closed the affected section of the N2 near Empangeni as cleanup operations continue. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes if possible.

Empangeni, located about 157 kilometres north of Durban, is known for its hilly countryside and views over the coastal plain. The crash has deeply affected the local community, and road safety remains a serious concern in this region of South Africa.
